What Is Religious Science?
The Science of Mind is the science of spiritual psychology. |
It deals with realms that are usually thought of as supernatural (the spiritual) but we believe there is nothing supernatural about how the universe works. It works according to laws which are impersonal and predictable. Even though we may not know in total detail all the ways the laws operate, we know someday we shall know and understand. It is all perfectly natural, and nothing is supernatural, even things we do not yet understand. |
When we speak of “mind” we are referring to something that science does not understand. |
Where is the mind? If it exists within the brain, where is the part that wills? For example, where is the part that chooses to move my fingers as I type? We know much about the brain, but what we know does not define mind. Mind (consciousness)appears to exist within and without the brain. Perhaps it uses the brain. We refer to Mind with a capital “M” as the Mind of God. It is the medium within which we think. We believe we “live, move and have our being” within the Mind of God. Our thoughts are, therefore, not meaningless things, but important creative messages received by Mind. |
We believe that thoughts are things; that they are creative seeds planted into the soil of the Mind of God and operated on by an immutable law of growth that results in manifestation. |
We call this the Law of Mind. It is also referred to as the Law of Cause and Effect and the Law of Attraction. |
We believe that it is always operating and that we are always using it, whether we are conscious of it or not. |
We believe it benefits us to become aware of how we are using it so that we may use it consciously for our benefit and the benefit of the planet. We believe that conscious evolution is the awakening to our spiritual power and ability to co-create our lives. |
We believe that the key understanding our lives is summed up in a single statement made by Jesus. |
“It is done unto you according to your belief.” Until we understand the creative power of our thoughts, we cannot understand the power of our beliefs. Our beliefs are like magnets attracting to us people and circumstances that out-picture our beliefs. When we understand how commonplace it is to believe, “I am a victim of circumstances,” we begin to glimpse the import of understanding how the Law of Mind works! It can feel good not to be the responsible party, but not at the cost of continuing to be a victim in life! |
As we begin to take responsibility for the life we have created by the Law of Attraction, we begin to use the power responsibly to create what we DO want, not what we DON’T want. |
When we start monitoring our thoughts we begin to see just how much time we spend thinking about what we don’t want (worrying) instead of thinking about what we do want. This is usually labeled “daydreaming” or “wishful thinking” and relegated to the toy box with other childish things. This child-like joyful anticipation is what we strive to recapture! |
Life becomes an exciting experience when we understand that God wants us to join the creative process—creating lives of joy, wealth, health and love. |
